Dr. Abeid, the first Arab doctor from Egypt, has achieved the distinction of obtaining the highest certificate awarded by the Spatz balloon manufacturer. It’s important to note that this prestigious certificate now enables him to train doctors globally.
The journey has already begun in Lebanon, where he traveled and trained numerous doctors.
Dr. Abeid mentioned that during his trip, he visited Al-Zahra University Hospital in Lebanon, where he performed a non-surgical endoscopic procedure to install the balloon for a 27-year-old woman. This marked the first use of this new American technique in Lebanon.
The new American Spatz3 balloon is the latest weight loss balloon in the world and is ranked number one globally in non-surgical weight reduction with the least complications, according to a report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which is under the U.S. Department of Health. It is the only adjustable balloon that remains in the stomach for a full year, made of medical-grade silicone, without causing major side effects, ensuring safe and significant weight loss.
